Evoé begins rehearsals for Brazil Reads Brasil

Evoé’s first project is a series of stage readings called Brazil Reads Brasil. The chosen text is The Seven Kittens, written by the Brazilian legend Nelson Rodrigues. The stage reading will happen on September 13th at Punto Space, in Manhattan, and will be directed by Débora Balardini, one of the founders of the Group .BR.

The Brazil Reads Brasil series emerged from the difficulty in accessing contemporary Brazilian plays in NYC. Laila Garroni explains, "we want to be a place of connection of Brazilian artists based here. We are not a theater nor production company, we are here to develop ideas and new projects, finding within our community, artists who share our vision."

The cast reunites a very diverse and talented group of artists as Christian López Lamelas, Andressa Furletti, Müge Karagülle, Gio Mielle, Carlos Caldart, Laila Garroni, Bárbara Eliodorio, Ma Troggian, Kenneth Shook, Andrei Posse, Mikael Deckelbaum and Rachael Sherer. The event will be free.
